To dye Easter eggs at home, it's not necessary to buy decorations at the store. Safe and eco-friendly dyes are obtained from ordinary food products.

Red-ochre color will be obtained if you take 4 large handfuls of dried onion skins and boil them in a liter of water. The skins should be boiled from 10 to 60 minutes. Cooking time depends on what color you want to achieve. The longer the boiling, the more pigmented the dyeing solution will be and, consequently, the color of the dyed eggs. Then the broth needs to be strained and eggs should be boiled in it.

Orange color of eggs will be obtained from freshly squeezed carrot juice. It's necessary to place the still hot boiled eggs in it.

Blue color will be given to eggs by blueberry juice or mashed blueberries.

Delicate lavender color will be obtained if you take ready-made dark grape juice and lower boiled eggs in it for at least 4 hours.

Light green eggs will be obtained when boiled in an infusion of dried pharmacy nettle.

Eggs will become yellow in a decoction of dried chamomile. The flowers should first be infused in hot water and then cook eggs in it.

Purple-red color will be obtained if you prepare strong "karkade" tea and then cook or infuse already boiled eggs in it.

Bright yellow eggs will be colored with a turmeric solution: use 3 tablespoons of turmeric per cup of hot water.

The juice of red bilberries, cranberries, or blueberries will give eggs a pink and violet tint; beetroot juice gives a bright purple color, and with the addition of water and lemon juice, the shade turns into lavender.

Blue color is obtained in a decoction of red cabbage, and for bright blue, you need to add vinegar to a thick decoction and leave the eggs in it overnight.

Spinach and parsley decoction allow you to get a green color, while brown and chocolate shades are obtained thanks to strong coffee or black tea.

USEFUL INFORMATION
The shell will easily peel off boiled eggs if you put them in ice water immediately after coloring.
