For the dough:

  • Milk Căsuța Mea 3,5%
    400 ml
  • Chicken egg
    1 pc
  • Sugar
    75 g
  • Dry yeast
    7 g
  • Butter Căsuța Mea 82,5%
    75 g
  • Oil
    75 ml
  • Flour
    700 g
  • Salt
    5 g

For the filling:

  • Apricot
    1 kg
  • Sugar
    150 g
  • Cornstarch
    75 g

Directions

  1. For the dough:In a bowl, mix the warm milk with sugar, lightly beaten egg and yeast.
  2. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes, until bubbles form.
  3. Add the flour mixed with salt, knead for about 10 minutes, then let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  4. Melt the butter together with the oil, add to the dough, knead well and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  5. For the filling:Place the diced apricots in a saucepan together with the sugar and cornstarch. Heat until they start to gently boil. Cook until the mixture thickens, then let it cool completely.
  6. Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces, shape them into balls and flatten them slightly.
  7. Place a spoonful of filling in the center and seal the edges well.
  8. Arrange the buns seam-side down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  9. Let them rise for another 30–40 minutes. Brush them with beaten egg (you can add a little milk and sugar for a nicer colour).
  10. Bake at 200°C for 10–15 minutes, until golden. The dough is very versatile and works wonderfully with other fillings as well — sweet or savoury. Enjoy with love!
