Directions

  1. Mix the apples cut into small cubes with lemon juice and brandy.
  2. Mix the sugar, cornstarch, grated lemon zest, and spices, add over the apples and mix.
  3. Mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add the very cold butter and incorporate it into the rest of the ingredients, finally add the cream cheese and form the dough.
  5. Divide into two parts, slightly larger for the base and smaller for the top.
  6. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour.
  7. Roll out the larger part on a floured work surface.
  8. Transfer to a 32 cm diameter tray, form the base, and seal the sides well.
  9. Put the filling together with the juice.
  10. Roll out the second part of the dough, make holes with small shapes, and arrange them on top.
  11. Place the second part of the dough over the filling.
  12. Cut the edges with a knife, brush the surface with milk or beaten egg, and sprinkle with sugar.
  13. Bake for about an hour, Temperature 180°C. Enjoy!
