Homemade dumplings filled with creamy cottage cheese — tender dough, rich filling and the comforting taste of a traditional homemade meal. Perfect served with sour cream.

For the dough:

  • Flour
    450 g
  • Chicken egg
    1 pc
  • Water
    220 ml
  • Salt
    3 g
  • Butter Căsuța Mea 82,5%
    25 g

For the filling:

  • Cottage Cheese Căsuța Mea 5.5%
    500 g
  • Chicken egg
    2 pc
  • Salt
    3 g

Directions

  1. Sift the flour into a large bowl and add the salt. Make a well in the center, crack in the egg and gently start mixing while gradually pouring in the boiling water. Add the water little by little until you get a smooth dough. Then add the melted butter and knead until the dough becomes firm but smooth.
  2. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature. It will become soft, elastic and easy to roll out.
  3. In another bowl, mix the cottage cheese with the eggs and salt.
  4. Dust the table and rolling pin with flour, then roll out the dough into a thin sheet. Lightly flour only the top side; the bottom should stay slightly sticky to seal well.
  5. Cut out circles using a wide-rimmed glass.
  6. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center, fold the dough and seal the edges well with your fingers
  7. Boil the dumplings in salted water. They are ready 2–3 minutes after they rise to the surface.
  8. Serve hot, with sour cream on top. Enjoy!
